How good is the infrastructure in Cali- Colombia? As the only major Colombian city with access to the Pacific Coast, Cali is the main urban and economic center in the south of the country, and has one of Colombia’s fastest-growing economies.

In the area, the bigger companies grow agricultural products like sugarcane and coffee and, more recently, cotton and soybeans. Beef, dairy, and poultry farming are also important for the local economy, and a lot of people work producing these types of produce. Printing paper (using locally grown sugarcane bagasse), pharmaceuticals, and chemicals are also big companies in the area providing more than 5 million employees.

As far as city infrastructure, Cali has been a strategic Colombian transportation center for the last 400 years and is linked by railroad and highway with major cities of the northeast and the Pacific littora like Buenaventura´s port.

Cali also has a major international airport and a military air base that serves the southern part of the country. As well, Cali, is a popular tourist locale, attracting many visitors to our annual sugarcane fair and carnival as well as dancing salsa at nights.

Highways, streets and overall beautiful architecture is well established and developed.

Lastly, Cali is the economic heart of the country’s south-west and one of the fastest-growing economies in all of Colombia. The Valle de Cauca capital was one of three Colombian cities to win a place in the Americas’ top ten major cities for foreign direct investment strategy, second in Latin America only to Colombia’s capital, Bogota.
